Lancome Rouge in Love... one more time with Miss Coquelicot!

Holy moly you must be tired of hearing me talk about Lancome's Rouge in Love lipstick. The fact is, I love them so much, I keep purchasing shades here and there, fooling myself that it makes less of an impact on my bank account if I buy them months apart. HA! 

But really, they are that good, and for the third time, I am not disappointed.

Miss Coquelicot's (in which you do not pronounce the "t") purchase was inspired on how amazing the shade looked on Jessica from Getting Cheeky. Of course, it doesn't look half is good on my lips, but I assure you, the color is amazing.

As you can see, it doesn't look like anything in my collection. It's peachier, brighter and more orange based. If you're a fan of brights, this is absolutely a unique color. I quite enjoy pairing it with a bright coral blush and mascara alone. Its texture is quite glossy and light and is perfect for summer. The wear time was decent (4+ hours) on me.

Lancome Rouge in Love part II with Rose Rendez-Vous #230

After the awesomness of my first Rouge in Love experience with Corail in Love, I thought I'd give another lipstick a go. And once again, I was not disappointed!

Rose Rendez-Vous (#230), or in the US Rouge Rendez-Vous, is a beautiful browny/orange pink. It's a strange description, I know! But that's the best way I can describe it!

As you can see from the swatch, this lipstick is quite glossy. I personally find it glossier than my Corail in Love lipstick but they last the same amount of time on. Rose Rendez-Vous started wearing off at the 4 hour mark. However, I very much appreciate that this lipstick doesn't wear off leaving a lipstick "ring" around my lips.

I took a full-face picture to demonstrate how this lipstick looks on my skintone. I'm a MAC NW15/20 but in the picture, I'm wearing my Estee Lauder BB Cream. I also took this picture after I had been cleaning my apartment for an hour straight so my apologies for the messiness!

Again, Rouge in Love by Lancome has struck gold. I'm absolutely in love with the formula, the texture and the color of Rose Rendez-Vous. If you're looking for a good lipstick, I highly suggest these! They have a great range of shades as well.

We have a long weekend here in Canada! WOOT! It is much needed and I must say I'm also happy this week is only a 4 day week. The weather has been absolutely fabulous around here and sitting in an office doesn't float my boat right now!

Lancome's new Rouge in Love lipstick line: I am Corail in Love

I am thisclose to stopping this post right this moment and running to Shoppers Drug Mart and picking up two more colors. Thisclose.

But I won't because I really want to share how awesome the new Rouge in Love by Lancome are. The shade I picked out, 322B Corail in Love, I thought was particularity phenomenal.

 

Yes, the packaging did require four pictures to illustrate its beauty. Seriously, the packaging of this lipstick is stunning! It's heavy - it doesn't feel like cheap metal, shiny, and makes a satisfying noise when you close the cap. I love it! I even made my boyfriend weight it in his hand, and while he had nothing to compare it against, he did agree with me that it was heavy... for a lipstick. 

On to the color! 

I would describe Corail in Love as a bright pink with a tint of coral. I can't compare it to much in my collection because I don't have anything that quite resembles it! Everything I have leans much more towards pink, or orange, but I have nothing that's quite in the middle like Corail in Love.

What impressed me the most about this lipstick is how incredibly moisturizing it is. That was a complete surprise for me - most lipsticks look fine when I put them on, but when they wear off, my lips usually start flaking a bit, and sometimes (cough MAC cough) a lot. When this lipstick started wearing off, the color wore off gently, settled a tiny bit in my lip lines, but did not dry out my lips. They actually felt quite plump and comfortable. 

The one reservation I had about this lipstick was the smell of it. It smells like old fashioned, your grandma kissed you on the cheek, yucky smelling lipstick. BUT, after putting it on, I didn't notice the smell at all. I completely forgot about it. So if the smell is putting you off these a bit (like it did for me) then fear not, you probably won't smell it after application.

At $30 in Canada, this lipstick isn't cheap. However, I feel like the whole range offers unique colors that you may not have seen in other brands (Karla Sugar has amazing swatches here). Furthermore, Corail in Love is extremely pigmented, requiring only a little bit of product for full application. I'm quite confident that I will get my money's worth out of this lipstick.
