Fashion Friday: An Announcement

Hi Everyone!

Today, I have a semi-special announcement. Well, one that I'm excited about anyway. I've decided to start a fashion blog! I felt my Fashion Friday posts felt out of place here and I decided I wanted to keep this blog being mostly makeup and skincare, as it has always been. I want to say a quick thanks though to everyone who was kind enough to read, and comment on Fashion Friday - your support was amazing!

Fashion Friday: The Orange Blazer

Today was such a beautiful day, it was actually warm enough to wear a blazer! Without a coat over it! This is what I actually wore to work today. Granted, I did have a coat in the morning, but the afternoon warmed up so much I tossed it. Spring is putting me in such a good mood!

I find it refreshes an outfit to wear a bright blazer. I got lucky with this one - I found this beauty on Trend Trunk for $15 since I already had some credits to my account.

Actually most of my outfit have been cheap finds! The bag is from Ebay, the glasses were snatch by my brother on Kijiji, and the jeans were bought when our local The Bay was closing and were 90% off! The loafers were 40% off when I bought them, and the t-shirt was only $12. I'm a savvy shopper, I tell ya! Too bad makeup doesn't work that way!

Fashion Friday: Sweater Weather

Fashion Friday: Oh Zara!

Zara's new online store has been killing me. I purchased these babies on the day that the store actually opened and I have not regretted it one bit.

Unfortunately, these beauties will have to wait to be worn since there is still snow on the ground where I live. But I can't wait to wear them with flirty floral dresses, rolled up khakis, and skater skirts! I love that their three-inch heel makes them comfortable enough for work, but the studs make them different enough to not be your regular black pumps. LOVE!

Zara has me hooked. Expect more Zara love in the future.

Fashion Friday: If money was no object...

Sometimes, it truly makes me feel better to put together a unaffordable wishlist when I feel the stress of money on my shoulders. It makes me realize that it's okay that these items are way beyond my budget. Who needs a $500 pair of shoes? I know I certainly don't, and I'm okay with that. This is not to say that if I won the lottery tomorrow, I wouldn't buy all these items in a heartbeat! (I may or may not buy a lottery ticket at lunch)

Fashion Friday: The Trench

My spring closet this year was in need of one major element: the trench coat. When I saw this beauty at H&M for 50% off, I jumped at the chance of owning a fitted, yet classic trench.

I love the detailing on the back and the piping! In case you're interested, but aren't digging the beige look, there's also a navy version in store!

Fashion Friday Post: The two-toned shoe need!

Something I'm really looking forward to this spring, is the two toned shoe, and more specifically, in black and white/nude colors.This trend suits my style perfectly and would go great with pretty much anything in my wardrobe! Here are my favorite picks, in pyramid format, for fun:

From top to bottom: J Crew Etta Cap Toe Leather Pump, J Crew Everly Cap Toe Pumps, Aldo Heliette Heels, Steven Fearless Captoe Pumps, Pour La Victoire Colettea Pumps, Kary Pointed-toe pump.

Some of these are affordable, some of them (AKA, J Crew) are much less affordable. The most drool-worthy are the gorgeous and strappy Pour La Victoire heels. If money was no object, they would be mine in a heartbeat! The Aldo ones will hopefully be mine sometime this spring, preferably when they are on sale, because that's how I do it!

Another small little thing in life: Introducing Fashion Friday!

I thought it might be fun to change things up a little bit on the blog and start a new series! Fashion Friday will only happen on Friday (duh!) and feature something I wore during the week that I've especially enjoyed. It's not something I talk a lot about on here, but I love fashion. You'll get to see some of my favorite items of clothing, from my favorite stores!

After typing this up, I've come to realize that the necklace, ring AND boots are all gifts from the boy! He can't say I don't get use out of these items - I wear them all pretty much every day! Also, that Gap sweater is amazing - 100% cotton comfort. No scratchy wool here! Plus, I can totally see this carried out into spring with skimmer pants, or into summer with shorts. I know this baby will get so much use!
