Face of the day featuring Bite Beauty!

You beauty addicts must relate to this. You know when you have a beautiful makeup product that you love, but you just can't seem to fit it into your beauty routine because... well, who knows why, it just doesn't make it. This is kind of how I've been feeling about my Bite Beauty Lipstick Library.

I absolutely love this palette. But being someone who almost never applies lipstick with a lip brush, it's kind of an extra step that I almost never have the time to take.

This past weekend however, I took the time to apply Carménére and thought I'd post my face of the day.

I used my Estée Lauder BB Cream all over the face after moisturizing with my Nuxe Crème Prodigieuse, then concealed any imperfections with the MAC Moisture Cover Concealer, and topped everything off with my Clinique Loose Powder. On my cheeks, I wanted to use something a bit more subtle with glowy, so I went with MAC's Warm Soul mineralize blush. My brows were lightly filled in with the Anastasia Brow Whiz in Brunette. For my eyes, I used my Make Up For Ever Eye Primer before using the same brand's Aqua Shadow* pencil in the coral/champagne shade 26E. I then used MAC's Satin Taupe in the crease, and Shroom in the inner corner of my eyes. To brighten up my eye, and keep things natural, I used MAC's Chromographic Pencil in NC15/NW20 in the water line. I used one of my favorite mascaras, the Make Up For Ever Smokey Lash* generously on upper and bottom lashes. And to finish, the pièce de résistance: Bite Beauty's Luminous Creme Lipstick in Carménére.

Carménére is described as being an "apple red" on Sephora's website, but I feel it pulls a bit rosy on my skintone. It's quite pretty! I like that it's not a shade I would usually wear. I tend to favor glossy lipsticks but Carménére's velvet/matte finish was gorgeous. It did not give that dreaded "matte lipstick" pull when applying, and wasn't drying to the lips at all. In fact, it felt quite creamy upon application, but settled quickly into a velvet finish. I definitely recommend you checking out their lipsticks - their formula is one of my favorite. I wear their Luminous Creme Lipstick in Pepper all the time!

Face + outfit of the day - Wedding edition

I had it all planned. I was going to wear my Banana Republic strapless dress - I hadn't worn it in a while and it fit better than I remembered when I tried it on again after two years. I was all set for the wedding on Saturday afternoon but then I ran into the most beautiful dress at my local Winners. It fit like a glove. It was on clearance. I had to do it.

Outfit breakdown: Andrew Marc Dress, Rebecca Minkoff Bag, What on Earth Ring and a sterling silver bracelet I got at my local Winners. Also, silver leaf earrings I got at a local boutique. My shoes (below - someone doesn't understand the concept of full length picture...) are B. Makowsky and super comfy. And my toenails have China Glaze Pink Plumeria on them.

My face consists of: Estee Lauder BB Cream, MAC Moisturecover in NW20, Nars Laguna Bronzer, Tarte Amazonian Clay in Blissful, applied a bit patchy.
My eyes: Two Faced Shadow Insurance, MAC Shadows in All That Glitters, Shroom, Omega and Brun in the outer corner, Revlon Colorstay eyeliner in black, and a nude Pixi liner in the waterline. I have Annabelle Le Big Show mascara on my lashes, my fave.
Eyebrows are MAC's Brun eyeshadow and a Marcelle pencil mixture.
Lips are a mix of Dior Addict Extreme Plaza and a bit of Guerlain Bal de Mai. 

And that's it! I tried to go a bit more natural with this makeup since I was wearing such a fancy dress and the wedding was pretty low key. Do you tend to go natural for wedding makeup?

Outfit and face of the weekend wedding!

I went to a wedding this weekend!

I actually love weddings - and the boy does too! I love dressing up and getting dolled up and sometimes (aka, this time) battling my hair and straightening them. The only downside of the wedding this weekend?... mosquito everywhere. Up my legs, in my hair, biting my shoulders... ugh. There was even one stuck up my dress during the vows... I couldn't really shoo it out!

I thought I'd post the pictures my boy took for fun! My dress is from Maggy London which I got from Ebay for ridiculously cheap. I also had beige/brown B. Makowsky wedges although they are not pictures. I thought I had outsmarted the grass by wearing wedges but they were thin enough to sink in anyway... hahaha!  I had a few silver bracelets from local jewelers and my nails are sporting Essie Tarte Deco. This polish sucked so hard, I couldn't even take a picture for the blog because I was ashamed of the bald spots. I'll try again sometime soon though, this time with three coats!

Apologies for the blurry! The face was made up with Estee Lauder BB Cream, Clinique powder, Harmony bronzer and Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Exposed. My eyebrows had some MAC Brun eyeshadow and some clear brow gel by Maybelline in 'em, and my eyes were completely made up with the Wet and Wild Comfort Palettes. I smoked out some liner around my eyes with Estee Lauder's Kajal liner in Blackened Cocoa, which is becoming a favorite!!

I hope you're all having a good week so far! Mine has been good albeit tiring! Can't wait for the weekend - does anyone else find 4 day weeks drag on? It must be a mind trick!

Natural face of the day

I figured I'd go ahead and post this face of the day. I had my mom visit for the day and didn't feel like putting on much makeup because, guys, THE SUN IS SHINING outside. It's nice to have some sun after these last few dreary winter months.

Products used: Estee Lauder BB Cream, NARS Sheer Glow on my cheeks a bit to cover some redness, MAC's Moisturecover under my eyes and Clinique's Invisible loose powder, lightly, all over. I also used MAC's Brun on my eyebrows and that Maybelline clear brow gel. I used Tarte's Amazonian Clay blush in Blissful and Clinique's Chubby Stick in Whole Lotta Honey. I used Maybelline's XXL Pro mascara which sucks.

Also, MY HAIR. It is so long - I NEED a haircut ASAP. It's getting to be madness to upkeep.
