My new favorite shoes! I've worn these all month, when it wasn't snowing, raining, or freezing in general. I LOVE these. The boy hates them though and thinks they are ugly: you are WRONG mister!

Nina Ultra Pro Take 2: Royal Purple

I have had this polish in my stash of untried for months. I basically only picked it up because it was something like $2 at Sally's and, well, $2 polish usually does it for me. Even if purple is never my first pick.

This was a true surprise. I expected this to be super boring duochromy looking at it in the bottle but it's really nice! This is three thin coats of the polish.

I feel like I've grown bored of blue/purple and pink/blue thing. But duochrome is making a comeback in my nail polish tastes. And glitter as well. This means DANGER.

Pretty eh?

I think this polish may be discontinued though. I'm not sure since I'm in Canada - the Sallys here is weird.

Topless & Barefoot

Short and sweet for today.

Here's Essie Topless & Barefoot. I basically only got it because it was on super sale for $5 at Trade Secret. I'm not a huge fan BUT it would be the perfect color for a wedding. Since I'm not getting married any time soon, it shall stay in the back of my nail polish drawer. It needs two coats because the first coat is really streaky as is usual with most Essies.

I find it a bit pinker than most nudes which is nice. I wouldn't consider it pink though - kind of a sandy color with a tiny tone of pink.

I wanted to include this picture of Billie. She sleeps in the weirdest positions.

The trial of a new brand

You know when you try something out of your usual brands and you're extremely disappointed and you're like, WHA? why the eff did I buy this crap? Well, it's called testing things out my friends, and doing that, as part of this beauty blogging stint, I have come across some shit product. 

A good example is this Nina Ultra Pro polish in Ink-ling. It was the gloopiest mess I have ever encountered. It was so hard to get the polish even, I was raging and swearing at every nail. I persisted, however, and ended with this:

Not the worst application ever. And quite a pretty color.

As you can see, it ended being an okay looking manicure (disregarding the cuticles). My family, who I was visiting for the weekend, couldn't figure out what color it was. That always pleases me. But I sure as hell won't be fighting with this polish any time soon.

On another note, I always laugh out loud when I walk into my bedroom to this:

She loves sleeping under my top blanket. Sometimes I'll leave the house and come back 4 hours later and she's still napping under there. Bless that little weasel face <3

Sew Psyched For the Fall

Oh I cannot wait for the leaves to turn red and orange. And for this weather to cool off. I don't know about you but I do not enjoy the feeling of sticky skin. This humidity is wreaking havoc on my skin! UGH, and since I walk from home to work, and then from work to home for lunch, then back from home to work, and then BACK FROM WORK to home at the end of the day, I'm permasticky. Granted, it's only a 7 minute walk each way, 5 if I super speedwalk and there is no traffic. But still, it's yucky on the skin in heat like this.

Anyway, enough about that. Essie's Sew Psyched totally reminds me of fall. I fully expected to hate hate hate this color on me. Especially because it's green - but it is surprisingly wearable.

The color is most lifelike in the last picture. Plus you can see the tiny shimmer bits in the bottle.

Billie and I had some bonding time tonight. We had a brushing session which she hates with one of her brushes but loves with another one. Weird eh? So I used the one she likes and she loved it. The other one picks up more hair though - which she needs with all the fur balls she's coughing up. Poor baby!

Oh HAI there Billie!

I'm presently going to try to sleep in this damned heat. Hopefully a breeze comes through. I refuse to buy an air conditioner. REFUSE! Or a fan for that matter. Sucks up all the electricity! And I'm not about to make my bill any higher. Wish me luck!

The Naming of Cats is a difficult matter

I was washing my sheets. I couldn't find her for a while and I ended up finding her in my duvet cover. Twas a warm nap for her!

Billie was super brave at the vet today. She didn't like the car ride but seemed to enjoy herself around the vet office. She didn't even flinch for two of her shots. The last one hurt though - poor Billie.

The title of the post is from the T.S. Eliot poem "The Naming of Cats". He had lots of cats apparently.
