Oh Butter London, I have such a love/hate relationship with you. First off, you make amazing polishes such a Jaffa, Muggins, and Snog that I know I'll wear again and again. But some of your polishes (like Fiddlesticks!) are gloppy and chip like crazy! All Hail the Queen has me confused. On the one hand, I LOVE the color. It's a sort of holo nude taupe shade that's really flattering on my skintone. However, I saw tip wear within a day of wearing this polish. Sigh... Why Butter London?!
I think perhaps my skin chemistry and Butter London just doesn't get along. While some of their polishes lasts for days, others just do not want to hang on to my nails. Oh well, perhaps next time I'll try All Hail the Queen with something other than Seche Vite topcoat?
All Hail the Queen is a gorgeous shade, and if you don't have wear time issues with Butter London polishes, it's a unique shade to add to a collection. I seem to be one of the only people who can't make these babies last for some reason, so perhaps my warning is unneeded.
Also, does anyone else think All Hail the Queen would make a gorgeous eyeshadow? Oh, the things beauty addicts think about...
Hope you all had a good weekend!

The exact opposite happened with me for No More Wait-y Katie -- the colour really didn't work well on me, but it would. not. come. off. Have you tried their base coat and top coat?
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried their top/base coat but they seem to be highly recommended!
DeleteI found that when I switched to BL's top coat, they hung around a lot longer and the finish was much nicer - shinier, not as dull. I love All Hail the Queen!
ReplyDeleteThat's really good to know! I'll give that a try!
DeleteI found Seche Vite made my nails chip faster so I stopped using it. I have the Butter London Top coat now and the Nails Inc one-so much better. I love All Hail the Queen-although mine is called All Hail McQueen-they renamed it for a bit after he died as a tribute. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think after this bottle, I'm done with Seche Vite. It really doesn't do it for me anymore. I'll give the Butter London top coat a try next time - thanks for the recommendation!
DeleteOh yeah! I forgot they had renamed it! Good for him, he was such an amazing artist!
Lovely colour!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tesa!
DeleteLoved the shade!

What a bummer! This taupe is gorgeous and I love the fine shimmer it has. I've been looking for more Butter London colors myself.
ReplyDeletePerhaps with another topcoat it will work? I'm not giving up yet!
DeleteI love this color! It's too bad it doesn't last. It looks gorgeous on you. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Liz!
DeleteGreat shade, and I agree, it would make a pretty eye shadow colour! I've not tried Butter nail colours, but I have had a few issues with Seche Vite not working well with certain nail colour brands, too. I love the quick drying time with it, but I've been thinking about giving another top coat a go as well. Sounds like the BL one is pretty good stuff, so I might have to give that one a try.
ReplyDeleteThat's good to know Nat about the Seche Vite. I gave my Essie topcoat a try the other day and my mani lasted wayyyy longer!
DeleteLove this shade, would also LOVE it as an eyeshadow...and just have to say that YES Snog is the best color, I love it so much!!! Definitely in my top 3, so I'm glad at least that one works for you Annick :D :D :D
ReplyDeleteIsn't Snog the best? I love it on my toes! Thanks for the comment! <3
